Friends of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs have recently launched a new eco-tourism initiative, covering the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and the Clyde Sea Lochs area. The project is sponsored by the Friends and Scottish Enterprise through their Destination Development Fund.
The overarching goal of this project is to work with businesses and third sector contacts in the area to stimulate interest in, and assist with, the delivery of a range of eco-tourism projects and programmes designed to capitalise more on the special heritage qualities of the area for the benefit of nature and people.
This project initiative is also being supported by the Centre for Eco Tourism and Wildlife Management at Edinburgh Napier University who will be delivering a series of industry training workshops with back up sustainability and ecotourism workbooks. The initiative is part of a wider collaborating for success programme being coordinated by Love Loch Lomond working jointly with the Friends of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs and Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park Authority.
Please find below a free downloadable copy of our recent ecotourism factsheets used at our spring seminars. This information is most helpful to tourism businesses in the wider national park area who want to capitalise on the benefits ecotourism can have for their organisation.
