School children to help save endangered fish in National Park |
|
17 Feb 2010

Loch Goil beach clean success |
|
8 April 2010
Many thanks to all our volunteers who gathered on Wednesday 7 April on the shores of Loch Goil to tackle the issue of marine litter. Soft drinks cans, fast food wrappers and fishing ropes were just a few of the items cleared from Lochgoilhead and Carrick Castle beaches by the group. In fact, over 25 bags weighing over 140 kilos were collected in total - well done everyone!
This event was organised in partnership with the National Park Authority as part of Keep Scotland Beautiful's National Spring Clean campaign.

John Groome's Diaries - first publication announced |
|
We are delighted to announce that 2 editions of the diaries have been published, covering the years 1974 and 1975. They are available from The Friends office at 63 West Princess St, Helensburgh (the office is usually staffed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays) at a cost of £5 for each year edition, or £6 to include postage within the UK. Cheques should be made payable to 'Follat Diaries'. The publication of these diaries has been made possible thanks to the generous support and energy of our president Hannah Stirling, and the enormous commitment of Peter Marrison. More details on the 2 diaries and a 'snapshot' of their contents will be published on this site shortly. |
